The Circle has captured Christie-Coxon’s attention for over 25 years.

Geometric in form, the Circle is expansive in its essence; a primal and potent form that serves as a portal through which themes of universality are explored. This shape is the cerebral starting block of Christie-Coxon’s artworks - the rest of what happens is spontaneous and organic, with a life of its own.

An ode to materiality, each Circle is a deliberate gesture ultimately resolved by nature; revelations of alchemy at the intersect of structure and fluidity. In this way, Christie-Coxon acts as a facilitator, rather than a controller, working in collaboration with the media and with nature.

The fluid loop motif is an exploration of and characterised by dichotomy; geometric forms that become wholly organic through Christie-Coxon’s process-driven approach.

At the core of the artist’s work is a desire to draw awareness to process and circularity. No two forms are the same, and these ‘imperfect’ circles allow for - and embrace - variation. The Circle loops back, informing itself repeatedly; cyclical and endlessly evolving within liberated fields of possibilities.
