Art in situ is a passion for Christie-Coxon who draws on her architectural and interior design background: including 2 years of Architecture at UCT and 10 years as Owner and Operator of successful interior design studio and show room Code Orange Design, Claremont.
‘For commissions the essence of the client inspires me. I contemplate my clients brief, the patron themselves and the space the art will inhabit. I may begin with sketches of the environment to explore placement and scale, and creative studies. My practice is a process driven dialogue with paint whereby I facilitate the expression of paint. Each work therefore evolves as a unique expression, within the framework of a guided conversation. I imagine the aspect of spontaneity in my work says something about the nature of my clients. ’

‘Colour, texture and composition are relative to scale, site and creative interpretation.’
