Being primarily a painter I have more recently expanded my artistic practice to include environment and elements. The circle - a powerful universal symbol - remains at the core of my work.

This work explores themes of duality, interconnection and balance. The vast and natural backdrop brings attention to our connection to Life, or the opposite thereof in the presence of the cage. Fire and ash suggest the infinite cycles required for evolution and growth. 

The cage; the imperfect circle; and the element of fire act as metaphors on which the viewer may apply personal meaning. 

This developing body of work invites the viewer to consider our place within Nature; and on a more personal scale concepts of self-protection vs self-imprisonment or isolation.
