UNIFY presents a tethered circle of individual spheres floating united on the ever-changing surface of the ocean. The environment and nature of the sculpture causes the individual spheres to rub and bump against one another, whilst staying afloat.UNIFY evokes concepts of tolerance, resilience and inclusivity; positive change through unity.

TREAD LIGHTLY is a proposed 1:1 scale rendition of the most commonly used mining tyre in Western Australia, 2.7m in diameter. The sculpture is a lightweight rendition of the original, slimmed down to offer a visual metaphor in both shape and form. Circularity, interconnectivity and physicality are at the core of this work, intended as a space for reflection on our relationship with the natural world.

ENVIROSPHERE

LANDFILL Using repurposed materials, this assemblage artwork presents as precariously balanced and brutal. Around two thirds of used tyres in Australia end up in landfill. Collectively we drive 1.5 billion tyres to the end of their useful lives every year. The sculpture acts as a metaphor for the impact of large-scale commercial waste on the environment and ecosystem.

LAND UNDER SUN & MOON OVER OCEAN Land Under Sun & Moon Over Ocean are inspired by the nature of Western Australia. The works incorporate macro-details from within Christie-Coxon’s process-driven paintings, mirroring environmental processes based on flow patterns; an aesthetic dialogue between water, land and natural cycles of the region. These works are currently under construction, Christie-Coxon having been selected as the commissioned artist for the Alkimos Bulkheads, part of the Perth Metronet Yanchep Rail Extension.
